Beginning in the summer of 2003, eight community grant makers, alarmed by the rising rates of obesity, and its significant impact on the health of our community, joined together in support of Healthy Silicon Valley, a community based collaborative dedicated to improving the overall health of county residents by strengthening the ability of individuals to make healthy choices about diet and exercise. The founders' individual contributions to the community, and their current support of Healthy Silicon Valley, reaffirms their dedication to improving the lives of Silicon Valley residents.
